Ruby on Rails

Here are some important Ruby on Rails links:

  • Tutorial: Rolling with Ruby on Rails by Curt Hibbs. This is the tutorial that I started with; it will get you going.
  • Tutorial: How to make a todo list. This has information on incorporating partials, which is a good way to reduce duplicated code.
  • Amy Hoy‘s blog. She has some informative articles on RoR. Just go through them.
  • Blaine Kendall’s RoR Cheatsheet. Quick stuff that you’ll eventually remember, but is indispensable at first.
  • Community: The RoR Wiki. When googling for something, I often end up here. Not that it always helps, but it’s good start.
  • Community: The RoR Google Group. Ask and you might learn.
  • API: The API. Handy for bare-bones figuring out.
  • Links: The official learning links. Pretty anemic, but very official.
  • Links: Top 12 Ruby on Rails Tutorials. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that these are the only RoR tutorials.
